Here at Logan Square Therapy we take great pride in our work. As clinical social workers, we understand the multifaceted layers of humans, and acknowledge that we experience life within the context of structures and systems, some of which we have benefited from and some that have harmed us. We understand that as humans we navigate cultures, social pressures, federal policy, bosses, landlords, families, all on a daily basis, and therefore we know that our individual struggles do not live in a vacuum. We understand that folks are looking to be happy and to be loved and that when this doesn’t happen we experience a multitude of emotions, thought patterns and behaviors. We understand that as humans we believe devastating things about ourselves, displace our emotions onto others, and harm our communities. We are normal. Here is an incomplete list of labels/diagnoses/experiences that we at Logan Square Therapy believe to be incredibly human, impermanent and redeemable: anxiety, depression, substance abuse, complex trauma, perfectionism, critical self-talk, low self-esteem, aggression, self-harm, relationship issues, fear, panic, low-motivation, suicidal ideation, family conflict, self-doubt, psychosis, people-pleasing, work related stress, rumination, questioning of identity, mood-fluctuations, inability to make decisions and finding comfort in unsafe ways. No matter how you are presenting or what you are presenting with, we are here for you.
