If you plan on using your insurance, here are the steps to finding out what your individualized health care plan will cover:
- Call the member or mental health/behavioral health services line on the back of your insurance card.
- Tell the representative that you would like to know your insurance coverage for CPT Code 90837. This is an industry code for a psychotherapy session. Your representative will move along much more quickly if you give them this information and you will be happy to not spend more time on the phone than you need.
- Inquire about a deductible. If you have a deductible to meet, this means that you will be required to pay the therapist’s full fee until your deductible has been met. Deductible payments do not ‘roll-over’, meaning your deductible starts over every yearly cycle.
- Inquire about co-pays and co-insurance. This will be your financial responsibility for each session you attend once your deductible has been met.
If you have any questions about how to make your finances work with any of our therapists, feel free to contact them directly.
