Kristen has enjoyed the past decade making change within individuals and the communities she’s lived in. She specializes in Mindfulness-based interventions, utilizing here-and-now experiences of thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. Kristen has extensive experience working with folks struggling through trauma, family and relationship issues, depression, anxiety and substance use. Sessions with Kristen are warm, accepting and opportunities to learn about oneself in order to heal, ground, and make healthy autonomous choices based on your personal wants and needs. Kristen believes that everyone deserves to live the life they want to be living. Along with Mindfulness, she brings in aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Feminist Theory and keeps a Strengths-based perspective in the foreground. As a social worker, Kristen’s efforts and interests expand beyond the therapy office. Over the years she has spread awareness of social injustice at grassroots and legislative levels and within higher education. Her most recent efforts include painting murals, advocating for change within the health care system and consulting for the University of Chicago. As founder of Logan Square Therapy, she is sublimely happy to practice what she teaches: a mindful lifestyle!
